Mission Statement
Mustard Seed Christian Bookstore Fellowship & Cafe is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering a Christ-centered community in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. Starting as a home-based operation at 887 McWilliams Dr., Corvallis, MT 59828, the venture will begin with a small online store selling Bibles, devotionals, gifts, and related items. Initial inventory will be minimal, funded through personal contributions and small donations, with growth tied to affordability. Operations will expand to a brick-and-mortar location once sufficient assets and funding are secured, incorporating a cafe, event spaces, and educational resources.
The mission is to create an inclusive environment inspired by Jesus Christ, promoting faith growth, community fellowship, and educational opportunities—particularly for homeschool families, those with reading challenges, children, and local churches. Revenue will come from sales, donations, grants, and events, with all profits reinvested into the mission.
Startup costs are low, estimated at $500–$1,500 initially (primarily for 501(c)(3) filing and small inventory), leveraging home-based setup and volunteer labor. Projected timeline: Launch online store within 3–6 months, transition to physical location in 1–2 years. This plan positions Mustard Seed as a vital community hub in a region with growing homeschooling trends and a demand for faith-based resources, despite existing competition like Christian bookstore in Helena, MT and online sales.
Mission and Vision
Mission: To create an environment inspired by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, bringing the Bitterroot Valley community closer together in learning and growing in faith. This includes providing affordable educational resources for homeschool families, audio/video faith learning for those unable to read, child-friendly play and story areas, facilities for church groups (prayer, Bible studies, meetings), a welcoming cafe for fellowship over sandwiches, soup, or coffee, and hosting community events, live music, and fundraisers to excite people about Jesus Christ.
Vision: To evolve from a modest home-based online store into a thriving brick-and-mortar fellowship center that serves as a beacon of faith, education, and community unity in the Bitterroot Valley, welcoming all and fostering spiritual growth.
As a religious non-profit, activities will align with 501(c)(3) guidelines, emphasizing charitable, religious, and educational purposes.
